چکیده

New linearization technique that reduces the thirdand fifth-order intermodulation products is proposed in this paper. It suggests the injection of second harmonics (IM2) at the amplifier input whereas the IM2 signals and fourth-order nonlinear signals (IM2+IM4) are fed into the amplifier output. The reduction of the thirdand fifth-order intermodulation products has been achieved by applying a new approach for a wide range of the fundamental signals’ power going close to 1-dB compression point. Key-Words: Amplifiers, Fourth-Order Nonlinear Signals, Intermodulation Products, Linearization, Saturation, Second Harmonics

Characterization of Cross Modulation in Multichannel Amplifiers Using a Statistically Based Behavioral Modeling Technique

A statistically based modeling technique is developed for characterizing in-band and out-of-band intermodulation and cross-modulation distortions in multichannel amplifier environments. The model is based on a new multiple envelope memoryless behavioral model that captures the black-box characteristics of multichannel amplifiers. A power amplifier with a two code-division multiple-access channe...

Experimental Investigation of Twt Nonlinearities and Distortion Suppression by Signal Injection

Traveling Wave Tube (TWT) amplifiers are high power, often broadband microwave amplifiers used extensively in satellite communications and electronic countermeasures. While the high-power outputs and wide gain-bandwidths make TWTs ideally suited for these purposes, the nonlinearity of these devices results in amplitude, phase and spectral distortion. Nonlinear distortion products appear as harm...

Detailed Dynamic Model for Semiconductor Optical Amplifiers and Their Crosstalk and Intermodulation Distortion

An advanced dynamic model for multisection semiconductor optical amplifiers is Presented. It accounts for the carrier and field distributions in the longitudinal direction as well as for the facet reflectivities. The model can handle arbitrary time-varying input signals and current modulations. Here the model is used to assess intermodulation distortion and crosstalk. First, cascaded amplifiers...

Digital Predistortion Techniques for Rf Power Amplifiers with Cdma Applications

With the increasing importance of spectral efficiency in mobile communications, linearity of the RF PA has become a critical design issue for non-constant-envelope digital modulation schemes.1 This issue is particularly significant in spread spectrum applications such as CDMA and wideband CDMA (W-CDMA) base stations, where the peak-to-average ratio of modulated RF signals can vary over a range ...

Simplemethod for intermodulation products counting in multicarrier systems

This paper presents a novel algorithm for intermodulation products counting in multicarrier systems. Intermodulation products are caused by the nonlinearity of the amplifiers’ transfer characteristic. Along the transmission network, broadband amplifiers are needed to boost up the signal level and compensate the signal attenuation. When the number of carriers increases, the number of intermodula...
